About Hayes Garden Machinery
On the back of a 10-year landscaping career James opened the garden machinery business in March 2012 at its current location just outside of South Molton. The business has grown a lot in this time with taking on larger premises and now with the addition of ATVs and Trailers. With the expansion, continued business developments and the team of which James calls part of his family, Hayes Machinery has been able to provide the exemplary service and product range you see today.
In James’ free time he has a keen interest in woodwork, vegetable gardening and family life.
Josh has been with the company since 2014, starting as a fully qualified Honda technician while assisting with sales. This put him in a good position to flow into the sales manager role and on to his current role as sales director. Not only does Josh have an exceptional knowledge of garden equipment but he also knows how they work. Josh will generally be the person who greets you when visiting our shop.
In Josh’s personal time he is a keen photographer, enjoys many sports and is passionate about the countryside.
Ryan joined the team in 2018 to oversee our operating systems, aftersales processes and parts management. He has many years of experience in retail management and has previously ran his own garden machinery business. This combined means Ryan has great experience to run our operations and a fantastic knowledge of small machinery.
Ryan is a family man who is partial to a surf and enjoys driving and repairing his series landrover.
James’ wife Suzanne oversees all internal and external accounts. She is a fully qualified chartered certified accountant, who previously worked for a local firm as an account manager. As the business has grown, she has increased her time spent within the family business.
Suzanne enjoys family days out with their children, cooking and gardening.
Richard has joined the company as a very experienced Robotic Mower Specialist to assist us with the continued growth with garden robotics. He also assist’s us with machinery assembly and is now our main cordless and battery powered machine technician.
Richard has a keen interest in Clay shooting, cycling and family life.
Henry is James’ father and has been assisting with our deliveries and collections since 2015. He has been a farmer all his life and since cutting back with his own work load, he is now enjoying getting out and about meeting our customers. If you book a collection or have an item delivered on our own transport it will probably be Henry who knocks on the door. More recently, Henry has been getting involved with the trailer sales, as with his livestock experience and the added bonus that he knows most local farmers this assists him well in this area.
Henry still farms several hundred sheep in his spare time as well being a keen horse rider and is often seen playing skittles across Devon.
Will joined the company in 2020. With an award-winning past in filmmaking, he has experience creating eye catching content. Will also looks after our social media pages and general marketing. Having worked for himself and other small companies, he has fitted in well with our team.
Will enjoys surfing regularly as well as mountain biking and skiing.
Graham has worked with James since 2009. Over many years he has been involved in the repairs and servicing of most types of small and large machinery, specialising in diesel engines and hydraulic systems. If it has got wheels or even if not, Graham can usually workout how to repair it.
Graham loves to socialise as well as spending time with his family as much as possible
Edward joined the company in 2019 as a trainee technician and has quickly proven himself within the company as a skilled technician. With the support from the rest of the team, he is willing to take on any task and give it a go. His confidence has grown so much in the short time he has been with us.
Edward is a keen Rugby player and also assists his dad on the farm at home.
Jamie is a keen technician and can put his hand to most machines, he takes a massive interest and goes the extra mile to make sure he knows everything there is to know about the machines he is working on.
In Jamie’s spare time he also fixes cars and other mechanical machinery as well as have an interest in shooting.
